Radio Personality/Jazz DJ, Staff Secretary
KRSN AM 1490 radio station; Los Alamos,NM

At KRSN I Organize and select jazz for a cohesive lunch time show, In which I adress the public under the alias Radioactive Alexis. I bring them a positive and uplifting live jazz show for their afternoon lunch hour. I also precord news updates daily, as well as aid in recording commercials and weekly scheduled programs. Using strong computer skills & organizational skills, I keep required files up to date, design flyers in adobe photoshop, as well as answer phones & schedule interviews for the daily morning show.

Customer Service Clerk

As a customer service clerk I was a receptionist for the entire store. I answered phones and directed calls to the appropriate department. I handeled customer inquiries & solved their personal problems with returns or exchanges. I also sold lottery tickets, money orders, & sent large sums of money through the western union service. It was imperitive for me to have excellent organization, communication, and problem solving skills as well as patience and a consistent positive energy. I learned extremely valuable customer service skills as well as what it means to be part of a collaborative team. During special events, I was the store face painter & I was asked to paint 3 separate murals around the store, which I thoroughly enjoyed doing.

Due to my artistic background & previous cake decorating experience, I temporarily filled in for a co-worker who took time off for maternity leave. I was in charge of the production of gourmet sweets and display cakes to meet the daily cake inventory, as well as producing custom ordered cakes in a timely manner. I kept a sanitary work environment , and used strong organizational skills to complete multiple tasks in a short amount of time. I excercised my creativity & communication skills to meet the standards of what was expected of me, and beyond.

During my time in college I worked at a charming restaurant in New Brunswick, NJ. During my time there, I greeted & seated cutomers, and assisted them in ordering their meal. I delivered their meal quickly & effectively while making sure they had a pleasant and memorable dining expeience. I also answered phones and took orders for delivery. On weekends I opened the store, prepared tables, and stocked items for the busy breakfast rush. I also painted a large floral mural in the store to make it more festive as well as inviting.

During my time at Cold stone, I met with customers to create custom cakes for their specific event. I decorated store front display cakes & maintained inventory of items needed for production of cakes. I was trained in the proper technique of icing cakes. I also operated the machinery to make ice cream on occasion, and kept a sanitary working environment. Time management and communications were important, as well as creativity, & organizational skills.

Studio Intern

Upon graduating from college, I was invited to be a studio intern at the professional printmaking facility conneceted to the campus. I assisted the master printer in printing editions of a selected artistís works. I prepared & soaked paper for printing the edition, I wiped etching plates, aided in the processes of silkscreen, etching, and lithography. I also stocked and maintained the print studio.

I met with staff twice weekly to generate ideas and produce content for the upcoming weeks issue. I was responsible for layout, design, and content of the arts section, where I become highly profficent in adobe photoshop as well as Indesign. I was responible for hand drawn content as well as digital content.

Working for a client, I designed & illustrated a detailed instrucion manual to aid in the assembly of a new halloween product, a unique costume now available in stores. I aided in general product innovation and designed the instuctions by hand as well as in photoshop. Samples of this work available on request.

Mural Painter / Face Painter

I was comissioned by Smithís Food & Drug in Los Alamos to paint a 30 by 10 foot mural in the front end of the store. I previously painted a large mural in the employee break room of the store and painted the mirrors in the bathroom on holidays. On customer appreciation days, I was the store face painter.

I thoroughly enjoying applying Henna and connecting with people on a highly personal level. Using handmade organic henna, I apply henna at fairs regularly, and also volunteer at local events doing henna.
